Do you do give to charities or volunteer during the holidays?
Work at a local food pantry, buy gifts for less fortunate children, donate blankets or coats for those in need? Could be anything!
Fiance and I are incredibly broke and we probably will skip any big gifts for each other. However, we will be buying gifts for a child in need who attends the school I work at. I am so excited to buy gifts for this student and it melts my heart to know that I can help make their Christmas a little more merry!
Last year I volunteered at a local soup kitchen shortly before Christmas. Thinking about doing something similar this year as well.
Do you do anything extra special charity work around the holidays?

@MichiganGirl24: I foster with a no-kill cat rescue in the area and they do a Christmas fundraiser where volunteers wrap presents for shoppers at the mall for a donation – I’m really excited to take part in that this year! Seeing as I donate a lot to them throughout the year it’s nice to be able to volunteer TIME instead of more money….
We also normally grab something off the “angel tree” to make a donation and pay $20-30 when those Salvation Army donation cards come in the mail to pay for x amount of peoples Thanksgiving meals.
One year I did the Operation Christmas Child, that was really cool if anyone is interested: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/

I just went through mine and my daughters closets to donate gently used clothing and shoes to a few poor communities. My mil’s friend does this… she collect the clothes and then rents a van to bring it to the communities.
This year, dh’s job is doing something. He is buying Christmad gifts for a 5 year old boy and 6 year old girl… boy wans a car, girl wants a doll.

Our department at work does fundraisers all year long. Then, at Christmas, we “adopt” a family or two or three, from the local Childrens Hospital to provide them with gifts (and a gfit card to grocery store) for the holidays. We shop, wrap and deliver. It is a very heartwarming and humbling experience.

@MichiganGirl24: We give, and I give at work!
I just helped supply a family with an entire Thanksgiving Dinner.
We also adopted an angel, so I’ll be doing some clothes shopping for a 12 year old, FUN! I love to shop!!
