I did this exact design to my nails last year! And I did a French tip looking one with a Santa hat. I happen to have a picture of my finger when I had it on them!

I used to loooove doing fun designs on my fingernails but since moving in with Fiance, I’m washing dishes all the time and my nail polish never lasts for longer than two days so I usually never bother unless it’s for a special occasion.

Here’s a picture of one of my candy cane nails that I did last year:

Hmm… thought I had a picture but I don’t. I did the candy cane thing last year too 😛

This year I am doing glitter in between two layers of a color.

@Aure: I’ve been meaning to look into gel polish. It really seems like it would work well for me. And thanks! I don’t remember where I got the idea for it. I’m sure it was some youtube nail tutorial.

I just did this last night: shimmery green (Zoya’s “Holly” – totally bought for the name, but the color is also pretty) with a glitter polish on top (OPI’s “Fresh Frog of Bel Air” – green and silver glitter).

@Aure: I love Zoya polishes! I can’t actually find them in person a lot of places near me, but the salon I started going to has a good selection. Despite the main place being about 20 min from me, I tend to order online from them a lot. The collection that had Holly has 3 “gem colored” polishes (I have the other two – a really pretty bright pink and then a blue that is just okay, I have a lot similar) and then 3 tinsel like polishes (Again, have all 3).

Disclaimer – these are my daughter’s nails, she did them. She also used a sparkly topcoat which isn’t apparent in the photos. I hardly ever paint my nails but she likes to do cute things on hers.

I decided to do a holiday design on my nails after all 🙂

I got the idea from this: http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/26kc5m

I put a silver glitter topcoat on top cause I love glitter and I always find that my nail polish lasts longer with glitter on top of it. Here’s mine!

@Aure: You should! It’s super cute and it was surprisingly easy, and I didn’t even have a skinny striper brush. I used a toothpick. I did mess up on two nails and had to do them over, but I think they look really nice now.
