You didn’t put my option up, but my husband proposed on New Year’s, which I loved.  We also seriously consdiered having a New Year’s wedding!

ETA:  As it is, we got married on Mother’s Day, so I guess we kinda stuck with the holiday theme.  πŸ™‚

Okay, he didn’t propose on a holiday and for the first few years of our relationship I was very opposed to the idea.

Confession: When I was “sort of waiting” last year around the holidays, it totally would have been cool with me if he had. πŸ™‚ I just wanted a proposal.

I got proposed to on Christmas Day, and it was the best christmas ever! I look forward to future christmases when we are unwrapping presesnts and remembering that day we got engaged. It was very special, because we got to anounce our engagement to our whole family at christmas dinner that evening.

I’m glad I wasn’t proposed to on or around a major holiday (unless Labor Day weekend counts as a major holiday to any of you guys).  I wanted my proposal to be a special event totally separate from other celebrations.

J surprised me when he proposed on Christmas Eve.  I never thought of him doing that for the simple fact that a lot of people get engaged Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.  But I didn’t mind it.  It was a proposal and one that I couldn’t be any more excited about.

@Bostonsmom: Awww….that’s kind of what I wanted! It wasn’t until AFTER Fiance proposed that I learned he thought proposals on holidays were lame and cliche. Haha, oh well πŸ™‚

I personally don’t like holiday proposals. And I made sure my Fiance knew that before the proposal. I just don’t like knowing its gonnna happen, like I’m pretty sure he’s going to propose this christmas. Mine was a completely random day which made that day special to us now.

Would not want to be proposed to on Valentines Day. I mean if it had happened that day I wouldn’t have thrown the ring in his face but it definitely wouldn’t be my preference.

Easter and New Years would be okay with me, but doesn’t matter now anyway. I was proposed to on Dec 13 so that works for me, lol

@Mrs.KMM: we got engaged the same weekend! I was going to say the same thing – I am glad ours was its own thing. Not that we are going to celebrate our engagement or anything now that were married but just because I like remembering it as its own event!
