I am getting married July 3, 2015. Being that is a holiday weekend I am trying to decide when to send my save the dates out. Our engagement pictures are scheduled for June 22nd and I would like to have them to use for our save the dates. By the time i get the pictures back and send the Save the dates out it will prob be auguest/septemeber. Do you think this is too late to send them being it is a holiday weekend? Have any bees had experience with this?

My daughter’s weddings are/were both on the Sunday of a holiday weekends. Their save the date magnets were mailed-out 10 months before. Their wedding websites were on the magnets, with the websites already having most of the guest information, i.e. the room blocks were all set-up, for traveling guests. Neither of them used professional photos (an Aunt for 1 and a friend for the other). If you want you can always send a short e-mail out, to people on your guest list, telling them the date of your wedding, as soon as the list is determined.

My wedding is Labor Day weekend and we sent Save-The-Date Cards out about a year in advance. I think you’ll be fine if you send them by AUgust/September. That’s almost a year out. Maybe spread it around by word of mouth too to give people a heads up.

We are also getting married on July 3! We just got engaged, so we have not had pictures taken yet. Our STD’s will double as Christmas cards to save money on postage. Most people around here don’t plan that far in advance, anyway.
