You cannot expect other people to put their life on hold in case you come to visit, same as they can’t expect you to drop everything if they visit you.


i get it – I moved 8 hrs away from my friends and can only visit during school holidays as I am a teacher. As a result, I have to work around others when I visit. Always appreciate when others go out of their wat for me but I can’t expect their life to revolve around me.

@Ap2010:  If they don’t put you as a priority, maybe it’s time to stop making visiting THEM a priority? Skip a year or two and see if they complain about not having seen you — maybe then they’ll make an effort.
