I know that Maggie Sottero offers hollow to hem alterations. Do any bees know of other designers that offer this type of alteration? As a petite bride I am really concerned about liking dresses/styles online that just won’t work in the real world/

Casablanca!! They’re amazing with sizing and customizing. I don’t know your definition of petite, but I’m 4’9″ and around 90 lbs. and my dress is Casablanca. There’s no additional fee for that, either.

Allure also offers it. I believe it was a $200 additional fee. I’m 5’1 (wearing 4 inch heels on wedding day), but since the bottom of my Allure Couture dress can be altered without having to cut any delicate fabric, I chose to order the standard length. Good luck, and I hope everything works out with the customization of your dress!

I’m 5 feet and ordered my Casablanca gown hollow-to-hem. Being shorter than average, I didn’t want to worry about losing detail from the bottom of my dress, especially since I wore flats on my big day.

Allure does. I believe I paid $150 for the Hope This Helps. The bottom of my dress had asymmetrical organza layers … I didn’t want to chance alterations messing it up so to be safe I ordered the exact length straight from the designer.

Pronovias & La Sposa and Demetrios also do hollow to hem measurements! It costs extra though.

I have a casablanca and they do custom but I was told there would be a fee. Somewhere between $100-200. I ended up not doing it because I have a pretty average body and would have likely needed aditional alterations after the Casablanca ones had been done. It was a cheaper route for me not to do it.

Reviving this thread as a petite bride that has started her dress search! Does anyone have any other designers they know of that offers hollow to hem besides Allure and Casablanca? Sounds like Mori Lee might too depending on the dress. Does anyone know if Stella York offer the hollow to hem option? I’m eyeing a few dresses from their line, but didn’t want to get my hopes up!

Yes, Stella York does offer it. As a five foot nothing bride I was very happy to hear that after I had fallen in love with my dress!

sideofbacon: I got the 5833. Ordered it in January and still waiting for it to come in. The suspense is killing me! I noticed you posted about the price of another Stella York dress. I can tell you that mine was around 1500, and then an extra 200 for the hem to hollow. I did try on a Stella that was around $1100, so prices vary.

My salon charged $100 to order my Casablanca dress with a custom hollow to hem. Maybe it depends on the salon. Soooo worth it on the lace Casablancas you don’t want to have that lace altered. It’s too gorgeous.
