Since everyone was so helpful with post #1, here is #2!
At 5’0” I’m very petite, but have fallen in love with a mermaid style gown made by Allure. Unfortunately, the material doesn’t flair out until below my kness. The seamstress at the salon assures me that with a hollow-to-hem and waist-to-hem measurement, the flair will be proportional to my height (and will thereby fit me the same way the sample dress fits a taller bride).
Have any other brides had a dress with a hollow-to-hem measurements? Did it work?

My dress was made hem to hollow and the streamstress did not have to touch it at all for hemming it. I am 5f 4in myself…

I’m 4’11” and also wore a mermaid gown. It was made in a custom hollow-to-hem length and turned out pefectly.

Hi there! I’m 4’11” and had a hollow-to-hem measurement for my wedding gown. It had beading along the top and bottom so if I didn’t get the hollow-to-hem it would ruin the beading design along the bottom when shortened. It worked out perfectly and the dress didn’t need to be hemmed at all when it came in!

Found a picture of the measurements “hollow to hem” of course I had to google this as I had no idea what you were talking about. Now I know!
So the light blue color is the “Hollow to hem” front and back!

I also ordered my dress from Allure with hollow to hem measurements. I’m so nervous about how its going to fit. It should be in within the next 2 months. I’ll be sure to give feedback once it comes in. 😉

@strawbabies: I’m so relieved that other brides have had success with this! The flare at the bottom was just right then? (I’m only slightly hesitant now)
@greenbuggy246: I’ll probably be ordering mine before yours comes in, but let me know please!
Thank you all for your help 🙂

Does anyone mind sharing what H2H measurement they ordered (and what silhouette of dress?) I”m nervous that my measurement is off and the dress will come too short!
