Our officiate’s (FH’s best friend) wife just had another baby, so we went to visit with them, and their fridge/freezer was absolutely stuffed with food! Not just any food, delicious homecooked meals that make you want to weep for joy.
They’re somewhat active at their church so they had a ton of people stop by and load them up with food, and I don’t think I’ve ever been so jealous over someone’s fridge in my life!
Where’s the food for the working college woman too busy planning a wedding to cook anything more complicated than a pot roast lately, huh?! 😉 I want a share!
Maybe I should just eat breakfast already so I can stop planning to TTC simply for the food, lol.

Haha, I noticed the same thing about my friend when I went to visit her after her baby was born! Her kitchen was overflowing with food people had brought her. That’s one less responsibility a new mom has to deal with!

@Regina Phalange: I know, I actually felt pretty bad for not bringing her a dish! After seeing her kitchen it seemed obvious that I should have brought food along, lol.

I’ve been active in church for a while, and I think that’s one of the greatest things about being involved in a caring, supportive church community: whenever there’s something in someone’s life (new baby, surgery, death in the family, etc.) the community really seems to come together and provide food–and usually, it’s awesome, drool-worthy home cooked stuff (like the stuff they have at church potlucks). Yummers!

@RapunzelRapunzel: That’s something I’ve noticed. All the people I know who have strong ties to a church seem to have a really great community around them, it’s wonderful!
Definitely makes me jealous for their cooking, though!
