@jenniferceline:  If you don’t mind my asking, where in Vegas are you getting married?  We were married at Caesars.

@Sunshine23:  Well, we arrived there on Tuesday, July 13th and we were married on July 14th at Caesars.  We stayed at the PH Towers on Tuesday and Wednesday night.  We left Vegas on the morning of the 15th for our honeymoon in Utah, where we toured all five national parks.  On the morning of the 21st, we arrived back in Vegas to spend the entire day. That’s when we went to Fremont Street and we had a breakfast buffet at the Golden Nugget. Later on we went back to the strip and went to the CSI Experience and Titanic: The Exhibition. Our last meal was at Beijing Noodle No 9 at Caesars.  Then we headed to the airport for our return trip home.

I’m sorry for dragging on, but it was a great time!  I agree about the misters, they don’t work well in that heat!

It really depends on where you stay, what you do, and wher eyou eat! i’ve had gourmet meals there for over $100 or i’ve had $10 steaks. I’ve had 99 cent margaritas on the old strip1

I’ve stayed in rooms that were over $200 anight, but typically, I pay about $40- 60. We almost always stay in the older section. Our fav. hotel is the Golden Nugget, but we have also stayed a little off strip and save a TON of cash and gotten some really nice rooms (I’m a bit of a hotel snob).

@LGenz: I agree! That sounds crazy cheap to me! A $25 cab ride is nothing, and going out to dinner for 2 for $40? A steal! I can’t remember the last time I paid less than $10 for a drink, either!

We are also poker players (that’s how we met) and we normally do Vegas twice a year. We stayed for 4 days at Encore, and got airfare and hotel for $777 total! It was the sweetest deal ever. We’ve also stayed at Bellagio and the Flamingo (in the GOSuites).

I am spoiled now, I don’t ever want to stay outside of the Wynn complex ever again.

Those cheap ticket places on the strip always seem like a pretty great deal. We are lucky and my mom has gifted us tickets to Phantom and O, and they were both phenomenal.

Like other people, we never eat for less than $40 at home. But I have had cheap food in Vegas too, like Pho at TI, Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood, the Fashion Show Mall Food Court (ohemgee, I wish we had Hot Dog on a Stick here. Cheese on a stick and sugar-free lemonade!)When we stayed at Bellagio last, we ordered from a really yummy greek place.

We’ve also sprung for Car Service over cabs, because it’s not that much more and at least you feel well taken care of.  And we never take cabs. I lose weight wach time we go because we walk so much!

🙁 We just went in June and I miss it already.

@ILikePink:  We were just there in the middle of July and I miss it too!  We won’t be able to go back for awhile though.  Last summer we stayed at the Flamingo and this summer we stayed at the PH Towers.  I just don’t miss the summer heat!

@menobride: Did you go to the buffet at the Golden Nugget?  The breakfast buffet was pretty good.  It is a beautiful hotel.

I live in Vegas and yes it is expensive to go out and do stuff.  The hotels are offering great deals but food and drink alone is really expensive.  It is a fun town to visit though, lots to do and see.

We would have loved to have our honeymoon have those kinds of prices!

Its too bad you found it so expensive. My Fiance and I went mid-march and we didn’t find it expensive at all. However, we like to gamble, so drinks are free when you are playing table games…and flights/hotels were cheap in March. We did splurge on Cirque’s LOVE as well (amazing!) but spent a lot of time just wandering around and poking through all the hotels and the free amusements (Bellagio’s Fountains, the big volcano, pirate show etc.). I can imagine that if we were honeymooning in Vegas we would have spent more!
