Hi There!  I actually am not having a Boston wedding, I am getting married in Chicago.  But I live on Washington Street across the street from Holy Cross Cathedral and I’ve seen many, many wedding there this summer from my window!  From what I have seen, most weddings there seem to provide transportation for guests to and from the cathedral because there is limited visitor parking in the area.  The most common form of transportation I’ve seen is using Old Town Trolley (they’re there almost every week).  The trolley drops guests off and then parks on the street in front of the cathedral during the ceremony, and then takes guests to your reception location.  Most of the wedding paries I’ve seen use limos.  Last week, I noticed someone had chartered a coach bus for their guests (waited outside just like the trolleys).  This is unusual, but I suppose it could work too, plus it would be air conditioned.  If you don’t charter a bus or use Old Town Trolley, there is SOME limited visitor parking on Shawmut Avenue, close to the Cathedral, and also there is metered parking all up and down Washington Street.  But it is limited and can be difficult to find for people that don’t know the area well.

Congratulations and Good Luck!  Maybe I’ll get to see your wedding from my window there sometime in the future!!  🙂
