I have one week left of the regular semester and then finals week of my LAST SEMESTER OF UNDERGRAD, woooh! Unfortunately, it’s also the most stressful semester I’ve had yet–coupling a crazy work load, work, the fact that our huge Christmas chorale concert is coming up this week and we have rehearsals everyday this week and performances every day next weekend, and the fact that none of my classes are in my major (I’ve already finished both my major and minor) and therefore I’m not very interested in them nor do I feel like I’m that good at them. I’ve had a 3.8+ up until this point but am worried this semester is going to lower that…and honestly, at this point, I don’t even care. I’ve been accepted to graduate school alredy and have a crippling case of senioritis and am ready to just get this semester over with! Plus then there’s wedding planning…totally on hold for the next two weeks, haha, even though I NEED to get these save the dates out!!
Any other stressed-out academic bees out there, whether you’re in undergraduate or graduate school? How are you dealing with the stress? Come commiserate! We’ll survive together!

I almost wish I was more stressed. I am bored out of my mind.
I have classes Monday – Wednesday this week, then finals on the following Monday and Tuesday. I have no more assignments or presentations due.
And the two finals I have left will be easy. I’ve gotten as low as a 92% to as high as 100% on the midterms for those classes, so I’m not worried. I’ll study the night before!
So basically I have nothing to do for a solid week. Ugh. Seriously, I have been wondering around my apartment aimlessly! Granted, last semester was absolute hell with my 21 credit course load, so I guess I should welcome this smooth sailing semester!

I’m trying to get up the “want” to do my finals – I have a paper for organizational management, a large group project that I seem to be the only person working on (GRRR), a powerpoint group project that I don’t have everyone else’s info for yet, and a final exam in international business. So worried that the next two weeks will be hell!

I have been studying in little bursts for my finals. and then rewarding myself with movie time. 1 hr of studying = 2 hours of movie lol

I’m just trying to get through! I’ve got one more semester after this with a slightly lower workload (yay!). This semester is tough, but what’s really killing me is my lack of motivation. I’m showing typical signs of burnt-outness and senioritis. Gotta get on it!

omg this semester has been absolutely *awful* I’m counting down the days until Christmas. Of course, next semester is going to be even worse. *sigh* it never ends.

I can relate! I only have two days of class left, but I still have three presentations to give in that time period. I haven’t even started preparing for the two I have to do tomorrow. I’m so over it. I just want to graduate! 13 days!

Nice to see I’m not the only one in stress-out central!
@bowsergirl: I’m totally jealous of you right now, but I’ve been in your place other semesters so I understand that being bored (especially when a lot of your friends are stressed up the wazoo!) isn’t much fun either. I’m taking 19 credits right now plus I’m a student teacher for another four-credit class and do more work than the students do, so I can definitely relate to your last semester: it can be really rough!
@nyscpa2be: That’s so frustrating that no one else is helping you on your group project! And getting up motivation can be super-hard, I agree!
@brandybelle: Great strategy! That’s what I’m doing with Weddingbee–every section I finish, I get a few minutes of Weddingbee time, haha!
@june_mantis: Yup, I totally understand being burnt out: at least your next semester will be slightly easier! Hang in there!!
@Miss Panda: I know! I have one semester off for working and doing research…and then three years of graduate school just for my masters, sigh. It really does never end!
@discodance: Three presentations in just 2 days sounds really rough! Good luck!

- Wedding: March 2012 - Pelican Grand Beach Resort
If it makes you feel any better in a misery-loves-company kind of way, this time sucks for your instructors as well and perhaps even more so. It takes a LONG time to grade essay exams and final papers and to organize the final gradebook and make sure there are no errors. Meanwhile, we’re getting flooded with emails from the mundane to the obnoxious asking for extensions, insider information, extra help from students who never once came to office hours, grade inflation, etc. and within minutes of giving the final, students are emailing to ask what they got.
Good luck with your finals!

This is definitely my most stressful semester as well, but I have three more for undergrad 🙁 Not only do I work, I’m the basketball manager, and those together add up to about 50 hours a week, plus field experience and classes. I close down the library every night. It’s been this way since the end of October. So excited for Christmas break! Just wish mine was longer than 7 days. Booooo.
Hope everyone aces their finals! I have three portfolios due this week and two finals next week, so just trying to breathe! lol

This was a pretty stressful semester for me, too! But it will be over in about a week or two, depending on how things go with my portfolio. I am putting off writing a paper as we speak. 🙂

Same here (one week away until FINALS). This semester has been amazing as it was my first semester working part-time on campus! Sadly, I still have until 2014 until I get to move on to the University. I am doing my entire Associates before moving on. I can’t wait though!

@mrsSonthebeach: Thanks, and I definitely understand it’s stressful for the professors too: I’ve always been a good student that goes to office hours, etc., but I can imagine how frustrating it is now with the extra questions, the people that only seem to care about grades and not learning, etc.! I’m a Teaching Assistant for a first-year course and the professor is too burned out to really do anything anymore so I’m doing pretty much everything–designing the assignments, grading the papers–and I understand how stressful THAT can be, too!
@MrsCanoodle: Good luck on your projects: and on your breathing! I can’t imagine doing 50 hours of work/managing PLUS classes–you definitely have a lot on your plate, and I hope it goes by quickly and you’re able to get everything done!
@Nurse_Bee: Haha, the Bee is such a great place to put off papers 😉 Better get back to mine…at least it’ll be over for both of us in a week or two!!
@Saloria83: I’m glad you’re having such a good semester! What is your program in?

@RapunzelRapunzel: Originally I was an English Major but I have switched over to Communications (haven’t decided if I want Public Relations or Technical Communication as a concentration yet).
I get the stressful stuff though. Luckily my job is on campus so it makes everything so much easier but I have two kids at home and I am planning my wedding. The wedding was put on the shelf during the semester so I could maintain my GPA (really aiming for the presidential scholarship when I transfer) but I can’t wait for break so I can just relax and plan my wedding and spend the holidays with my family. Congrats on getting your UnderGrad done though!!

My Fiance is in grad school and working and I AM SO READY for this semester to be over. 20 hours of homework a week is killing me and I’m not even the one doing it. Bless him. He spent his birthday evening doing homework only coming down from his office to eat his birthday meal and give me a quick kiss and thank you before going back to it.
