So, quick background: This has nothing to do with weddings… Since I was a kid, I’ve had super long hair. About 6 years ago, I got really frustrated with my hair and chopped it all off. Being super excited to have short hair, I dyed it all manner of colors; black, blonde, pink, blue, you name it. Then, I started growing it out again, I decided to go back to my natural color– stupidly, I attempted to bleach it back to my dirty blonde/auburn color. And ultimately, ended up with this:
Frustrated and angry, Fiance finally suggested that I go to a pro. So, yesterday, I walked in to the only salon in town that would take me and asked for her help. I told her I thought the ombre look would be cool but I totally trusted her judgement and she could have free reign to do whatever she wanted and I ended up blonde….like, really blonde…like, a lot blonder than I ever thought I would be. Everyone seems to like it but it’s gonna take a lot of getting used to. Fiance says he likes it but “you look like a white girl”. lol
Thanks for looking! I had to share…she says it’ll get even lighter so that’ll be interesting to see. What do y’all think???

I love it! I have auburn colored hair and I’m so scared to go blonde because of my freckles. I am envious of your amazing hair color.

I would call that reddish-brown. Nice job!

I think next time you get it dyed or your roots done you should ask her to tone it, and make it a little bit cooler. It is very very brassy.
When I was in high school I decided to go blonde. I have dark brown hair, and I could never figure out why it just looked “off” all the time. Like I know it was blonde, it was definitely light, but it just didn’t look right. Finally I went to a new hair salon and they toned it for the first time, and it was a wonderful shade of blonde! Soon after I decided the whole keeping up my roots thing and paying $75 a month to have roots after 3 weeks was silly, so I dyed it back… but yeah it is very yellowy/orange rather than blonde (or auburn, for that matter) and would look better with some toner!

I like the majority of the color but I think it is a little uneven. I’m assuming the ombre refers to darker roots and lighter tips. The left side is darker than the right and there’s a super light patch at the bottom of the left side. I have a Brazilian friend whose hair is so pretty and a lot like this, wavy and naturally very sunbleached. If not for your skin tone, I’d guess you were a ginger.

I totally know what you mean about the toner. She did tone it…twice (I wish I could tell you what she used but all I know was that there was both silver and violet tones). In person it’s much more of an ash blonde– I wouldn’t go any cooler of a shade, I feel like it’s far too cool for my skin tone as it is.
But you’re right, I didn’t realize how brassy it looks in the photo. I was just so excited! lol
Yes! It is very blonde! At least for me…it’s the blondest that I’ve ever been…intentionally. lol. I used to bleach my hair til it fried but promptly covered it up with pink or red or blue.
I see what you mean about the dark and light spots. I think that’s the really unfortunate thing about dying hair black is that it’s SO freaking hard to get out. I’m not worried about it, when my hair curls up again, it’ll all blend in.
I wish I was patient enough to have just grown out my black hair and let it bleach out in the sun. It was weird though, my brown was growing in and bleaching in the sun and then at about my shoulders it was just black. It just looked….bad.
Either way, this is a VAST improvement on the way it was.
