- Wedding: June 2013
I will try to keep this short and sweet. Until August, Fiance and I were living in a beautiful one bedroom loft in a historical building, that we loved. My mom is quite ill (MS, CHF, Breast Cancer) so my Step-father and her asked us if we would like to move into their house to help out, until after the wedding, when we would purchase a home. They were hoping that many of the medical issues will have been resolved (cancer) by that time, or they will have secured other assistance. It would also be a great way for us to save money (paying minimal rent). SO, we said yes (I also left school, and my job so I could be there for my mom) and packed up, and moved across the city.
Fast forward to now (yes, not very far forward, only 2 months). My parent’s have separated, and we have to find a new place to live. Yes, we just got rid of all of our furniture. Yes, we got rid of most of our old kitchen items because we knew we would be getting many things as wedding gifts in June. Yes, we are angry.
My mom has decided to move into a tiny apartment, next to my grandmother. And, we are now looking for a house to purchase! We are trying to push our anger aside, and to be positive and excited about this next step.
That being said, we have found a house that we like, but it needs some love. I am not afraid of a little hard work, but Fiance is a little more concerned.
I’d like to show him what a little cleaning, flooring, and paint can do. If any of you have some before and after photos of your homes, I would love to show him! (Instead of magazines, tv, etc… Real life photos!)
