Hi there, I bought this dress a couple of months ago, and I now feel like I am having regrets and second guessing my decision. I just want to know what your honest opinion is about the dress. I am sorry I don’t have any pictures of myself in the dress, but just wondering what you think of the dress itself – please be honest….thanks!!!!

It is beautiful and elegant.

The dress isn’t my style, but that isn’t important. My main concern is that it is A LOT of dress, and doesn’t flare until it hits the hips. It may not look great on a shorter bride. I would think 5’6” with heels could pull it off, but it could drown someone out otherwise. But, if that doesn’t apply, ignore!

It’s a beautiful very elegant dress imho — even though it wouldn’t be the dress I’d pick out for me personally. There IS a lot of dress, but hey tis your WEDDING DAY so tis perfectly alright to have a real wedding dress! That’s what I keep telling myself when I have some second thoughts on the dress (I had envisioned a certain type of dress but ended up with one that has a lot more skirt then I had in mind really! But I love the dress and who gives that it has quite a bit of skirt — tis my wedding day and I get to choose what kind of dress I wear!:))!
What are your second thoughts on the dress if I may ask? That might make it a little easier on us to take away your doubts! 🙂

Couple of things I found when trying on dresses like this:
- The brooch thing the hip will bring attention to that area. So if your like me with a larger butt/hip it may be something to shy away from.
- It is a lot of dress. If you are short/petite it may not work well.
- How would it be bustled and how heavy is it. Think about your comfort while dancing etc. Even if they can put a bustle in, what if the bustle breaks beacuse the train is so heavy.
I really like the top bodice part and all of the MS corsets are really comfortable.

Dresses can look completely different on a person – so as soon as you can post a picture please do!
I tried on a few Maggie gowns, and they were incredibly heavy, albeit very lovely. I also thought the beading on the gowns was not well done or not quite the quality I was expecting.

I really like the front of the dress but I’m not crazy about the back — just too much going on back there for my style. Maybe a seamstress can do something to alter it into something you like better? Have you thought about removing the train or have a permanent bustle back there? Good luck!!

I think it really depends on your shape and the style of your wedding. I can see this dress looking AMAZING at a certian wedding, but a little out of place at another… What specifically is causing you to have second thoughts?

I think it’s lovely. One of my favorite dresses is also a Maggie Sottero and I think they are so beautifully made!
