Thanks for all your comments, my dress makes me feel so good in real life but the photos not quite so much! I will try the spanx and still got over a year to go, so may be able to get to my ideal shape by then, just went out for a killer run so that’s a start! I appreciate the honesty. Xx

thefuturemrswales: I notice it because you mentioned it. But if you walked around in that dress and didn’t mention/seem uncomfortable in your dress, I wouldn’t be drawn to your belly area, at all. What strikes me most about the dress is the design and the pattern and it looks lovely as a whole.
I agree with other Bees who suggested undergarments. It could at least comfort you when it comes to your body insecurities. And if you opt for something that looks more like a bustier than just Spanx, like this :

It won’t feel as much as a body-shaping undergarment than a bridal lingerie set/underwear.
Another suggestion (I haven’t read all responses so maybe so already answered this) : is the dress meant to be worn with a petticoat of some sort ? Maybe creating more like an A-Line shape with the skirt will contribute to trick the eye away from the belly area as well so when you look into the mirror, it won’t bother you as much.

You look lovely. Shapewear (spanx, etc) will help smooth your tummy out. If this style of dress is what you want, I see no reason to look for another.

You look great and so does your dress! And I wouldn’t worry about your tummy it’s hardly noticable unless you’re being super nit picky which in my opinion would be silly. And like comments above have stated if you’re worried when the day comes around spanx would work and so would a corset/waist cincher! Thats my personal go to for a quick stomach fix 😀

I think you look gorgeous.
Tummy schmummy. We all have one, and the last thing I see when looking at your pics is a belly.

The dress looks fantastic on you. Even thin girls have to don shapewear when wearing something jersy knit that doesn’t give you any shape.

Can you put something under it so the dress puffs out more at the bottom? I feel like your stomach would than blend with the dress puffing out then

Just get some spanx for underneath, control undergarments you will be fine!

You choose a gorgeous gown! The spanx will be great, and you might try adding a sash too. That helped make my tummy area less obvious. good luck!

There’s nothing a good corset won’t fix… (ahh yes! except for me because my doubts with a dress came from my big hips!)
Anyway, like the rest of the bees, see how it looks with proper undergarments. BUT if you still see it, there won’t be a bee in the hive who will take that off of your mind. This is between you and yourself…. and the pictures, because they last forever. I must admit that in my case, I knew that if I looked at the pictures over and over again, I would be annoyed. And then I found a dress that made me want to look at myself in the mirror again and again.
It seems like this was THAT dress for you at some point. Try to go back to that with some help. if you can’t, you’ll know it’s time to move on!

thefuturemrswales: Firstly, that dress looks gorgeous and will be perfect for the wedding you’re planning!
Secondly, I thought I’d share this thread I found while lurking around some old posts after falling down a ‘weddingbee boards’ hole of related topics and other links 🙂 http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/forget-spanx-im-wearing-rago/#axzz33sEHEEuX

thefuturemrswales: I love the dress. You look stunning. You have time and if you’re still concerned about it at the time, I agree with the girls, get spanx, it does wonders.

I’ll start by saying that a gut is the hardest thing to get rid of for many women, the last milestone of weight loss.
That’s what they make undergarments for! I honestly think you look lovely in that gown but you’re obviously feeling self-conscious about it and you don’t want those thoughts about how you look on your wedding day.
