I love it! I actually wish I had a zip up back, I have a corset. The corset does give you that defined waist but I have some (okay a lot) of extra meat on these bones it also give me a nice roll of backfat spilling over the top of the dress, I also cannot sit well in it because it’s so tight and there is so much boning. I am going to have to lose weight now so that the corset is not so tight, I tried having it done up more losely and it looks all gaped and stupid, I would stick with the zipper lol. You are WAY smaller than me but I still think that overall a zipper back is more comfortable. Although I do think buttons over the zipper would look stunning (I wanted the little buttons so much).

Personally, I love corset back dresses and I don’t think I’d go with anything else. But I love the idea of adding buttons, I think it would really class up the back of the dress and add a nice detail!

I was just in a wedding where the bride had a zip up dress.  She looked fantastic but the dress was just a smidge tight (the fit looked great but she was a tiny bit uncomfortable) and she had trouble with the zipper sneaking down all night.  You can even see it in the pictures at times. That experience convinced me that I want a corset.

Mine is a zip up with the button detailing (however, my zipper ends in the lower-middle-back rather than between the shoulder blades). I think you should add the buttons and so long as there is a eye-hole clip at the top of that you can secure, the zipper shouldn’t inch down on you at all!

I love the zipper! I’m not usually a fan of corsets, though..

If the corsett doesn’t work then add buttons to it so that it hides the zip!

I think it’s fine. I’ll be honest, I prefer buttons but as a guest, I doubt i’d even notice!

My dress has a TON of beadwork that meets in the back of the dress. It origionally was a zip up but I’m having it changed to a corset at the designer. Its really your preference. The dress looks beautiful on you and I dont think you could go wrong with either of your choices..

I think you have that slim waist look already, without the corset.  I do like the look of buttons over the zipper.

I had a zip up and it was great except when I realised the morning of the wedding that the buttons where fake but there where hook and loop closures which made the zipper disapeer so I was ok. I say as long as the zip doesnt show there isnt a problem. Zips that show make me think of cheap davids bridal dresses and is not a finished look. Add buttons or hook and loop(if possible) and your good.

I had a zip on my tulle ballgown and I can honestly say I’m glad I did.  No one had to faff for ages doing me up and when I popped up to our hotel room to get 5 minutes of a breather I was able to let the zip down for a bit of light relief.  My dress fitted perfectly but it was great to be able to air myself for a few seconds.  You’re dress is gorgeous by the way.
