Ok ladies , so last week my grandma let me borrow her pearl necklace for my something borrowed 🙂 It was given to her from my pappaw on their tenth anniversary. It is beautiful, but am confused on how to wear it.
Thing is it’s very dainty and small. I gained twenty pounds after I had my daughter, and alot of it accrued in my arms , it’s something I am pretty self conscious about it.
There is something so elegant and traditional bridal about wearing pearls and an updo , but I worry that since it is such a small necklace it makes my arms and shoulders look bigger.
I cannot decide if it really does or if I am being harsh on myself and seeing something others don’t.
Or – does it being so close to my face bring more attention to my face and less to my arms?
Please comment/vote on what I should do 🙂 And I am wearing a similar neckline my dress is sweetheart cut.
Hair up , necklace on like original plan
Hair down… my hair would be curled so a couple inches shorter than it is today when I straightened it.
or Option three is to go sans necklace and double it up and wear it as a bracelet.

You do not look broad and your arms looks great! I like the necklace a lot. I would wear your hair however you want to wear it without worrying about your arms because seriously, there is nothing wrong with them!

I think you have great arms and shoulders. And the whole package looks gorgeous with your hair up!

Your arms are perfectly normal and satisfactory!
The necklace is dainty. If you want , you could use an extender chain at the back to make it drop down a little more. You could also use a satin ribbon in the same way.
To add more wow factor, you could clip a brooch at the front.

I think you look beautiful with your hair up and the necklace. Try to take any worry about your arms out of the issue! The necklace would also look wonderful with your hair down but smoothly back… not falling forward over your shoulders.

I think your hair up with the necklace looks great. Your shoulders and arms look perfectly fine!

Up! I have no idea where you’re seeing extra weight in your arms, but I think the necklace looks great with the hair up 🙂

@galloway111: I guess I am too critical of my own body. I need to throw out all my pictures from highschool when I was a size 4, 5’7″ and 125 pounds.

O and By The Way I reread what I posted last night please know I am not attention whoring! I am not asking anyone to tell me I look great or anything, I am just wondering if anyone else thinks the small necklace broadens my arms /shoulder or not, and If I should wear my hair down or up 🙂
