This is a stunner of a gown.  Wish I had seen it and tried it on before I bought mine.  I think you look fantastic in it.  I love your hips!  They aren’t abnormally large at all.  Just shapely.  ๐Ÿ™‚

From another girl with hips and a trumpet gown I am telling you it will fit totally differently once its sized to you.

You can double check with the seamstress on this but I am pretty sure that dress is just a little snug in the hip area. Once its let out a little it will fall more naturally and accentuate all those positives -tiny waist, great hips!

You’re dress is VERY similar to mine. LOVES IT

It doesn’t look BAD, I just think there are other dresses that could probably do a better job of accenting your waist.

It’s not that the dress EMPHASIZES the hips necessarily…it’s just that the silhouette takes the emphasis off the waist. It’s a shame, though, because it looks lovely from the back.

@MrsBrown2B:

I agree the dress looks beautiful on you – but I also think that it may not be getting exactly the effect you want… esp. if you’re not really confident I’d at least look at others. (That’s the advice I got when I stressed about things not very many other people would even notice, and it does make a difference even if it’s ‘just me’ that notices).

This dress looks like it has an empire waist – so coming from another pear shape with a small waist – I’d suggest you look for something with a more natural (lower) waist. It doesn’t make your hips look big, but I definitely think you could put more emphasis on your waist.

spanks is a girls best friend, but i do not think you need it LOL

i had to look at this post a couple of times because I was like “why would she even ask that???  what could she be thinking that is not flattering”

we are women, we are suppose to be curvy, and that dress is so beautiful on you!!!!  i still don’t see the hip/tummy area, I think its so beautiful, i really really do:)  So i hope you get it, and be happy in it, and not worried about your appearance, because there is nothing wrong with it:)

he is gonna freak when he sees you in it:)

I think you look gorgeous, but we would need to see other dresses on you to compare what would look best on your body type I think.  Personally, while it’s a beautiful unique dress, I think there are other silhouette’s that would be more flattering on your amazing body type!!  I would try an A line and compare pics of yourself in those!
