I like the colors, but it’s very old-fashioned and cheap-looking.  I think girls wore dresses like that to prom 15-20 years ago.

(Sorry to be harsh, but you said you wanted HONEST and you do have a lovely figure and can find something much better.)

I really like that dress too, and I think it will look great when fitted.

But I’m really not into fashion, and I seriously dislike mermaids, so my opinion on dresses is almost always different from most of the rest of the Bees…..

The story behind it is very sweet and well intended, but the dress is dated. I really do not like it, I think you should go try on other dresses and see how you feel in them and then make a decision.

I have to echo with the previous posters… it does nothing for you, the fabric looks cheap, and it is vaguely reminiscent of a prom dress from the late 80s/early 90s. And not in a good way (is there a good way??)

Go your own way, please do not wear that dress unless you specifically are actually in love with it.

I don’t like the dress at all. I think it is very dated…….like about 20 years. That being said, if you love it wear it. I love that your future Mother-In-Law is trying to help you. Are there any very simple, timeless, elegant styles?

I honestly think if you go for it and don’t love it, you will come down with a big case of dress regret. I think the story is great, but remember their opinions are coming from the bias of wanting it to work. There is no harm in shopping on your own and checking out your options!

I’m sorry but I’m with the other bees and don’treally love it either. You have a great figure and the dress does nothing for you.

I like it. I think it looks princessy. And once you have it altered it’s going to be fabulous!!

If you got the wrinkles out, took it in a lot, and maybe altered the neckline to be a sweetheart, then it would look okay. I dont think I’d love it but at least it wouldnt look as outdated as it does as-is

The real question is, do you like it?

It could look great with some alterations, eg if you changed the neckline to a sweetheart, got it fitted (and dewrinkled of course), removed the long laces in the back, and maybe added some lace overlay to the bottom or something to cover up some of that fabric. If you get this for free, that money you saved could be used to make this one perfect (but consult with a seamstress first), and I too love the story behind it.

Honestly, I do not like it and think it is unflattering.

And while that’s a, slightly odd but nice backstory, this is the ONE wedding dress (all going well) you get to wear. Make it about you.

It looks matronly and dated – you have a great figure and it doesn’t do you justice.

Honestly, I hate it.  It looks dated and I really don’t like the overall design.

You have a great figure…you could rock SO many dresses.  I don’t like this dress.
