I personally would not wear it, but I’m having a beach wedding so it would be TOTALLY  not the right dress   : )

But I Love it for a formal winter wedding!  Beautiful!

I think the styling is classic and timeless. It would look great for a winter wedding and some sparkly accessories on you.

I have nothing to add that hasn’t already been said, but I will reiterate that I love your first gown so much. The new gown is very safe and expected. It’s a beautiful gown, but so different from your current gown. Does the new gown give you that flutter you had with the first gown?

I think it’s humorous that bees are critiquing the runway accessories. :p Of course they’re not going with the gown…

If your family thinks drama is a ballgown and you want to appease them, put a crinoline or hoop under the dress you already have.  It’s way more romantic and wintery than the back-up dress in my opinion.  But you gotta do what you gotta do to be sure you are 100% happy on your wedding day.

And I said that about the ballgown because the only thing about the first one that might be ‘dramatic’ is the ballgown aspect of it, everything else is kinda plain, in my opinion.

I think both dresses are lovely!! My outsider’s, unprofessional opinion is that you just have to decide if you LOVE, love, love your first dress enough to damn the naysayers and wear it with confidence and pride. If you don’t love it that much, then definitely look for the dress that you WILL love that much! ๐Ÿ™‚

You already know that I LOVELOVELOVE your own dress. The other one you posted is also nice, but just wait till July and if you still feel the same way you have enough time to find something else. Don’t make yourself a two dress bride..yet!!

I think the gown behind it, the one leaving the runway is a ballgown.  I think this one is a traditional A-line.

My first dress is a traditional A-line, but when I saw it, I thought it was looking very much like a ballgown.

@7-9-11bride: Agreed, I don’t think it’s dated but rather it isn’t the current trend (ie: corsets, pick ups, rouching etc) making it more classic and timeless, does that make sense?

That said I think the dress listed later in this post is so romantic and soft. I guess it depends on your wedding venue.
