It’s come time for me to design my new CapitalOne card and I’m torn as to what to choose. I have the option of having just the plain ole’ card (booooring!), an “identity” card that’s basically just a picture of my face in the top left corner or a full blown photo card. If I went the photo route, it would be one of the pictures from our wedding (I’ll post my options below). I asked Darling Husband what he thought and he kind of laughed at the fact that I’m even considering the full blown photo card but I don’t know, I kinda like the idea. I’m only going to be using the card for gas and groceries so the amount of people who will actually see it is limited.
What do you think? Would the photo card be totally lame?
These are the pics I’m considering. Which would you choose? I’ve uploaded each of them to the website and played around with them on the card and they all look pretty good.
My personal fav from our wedding…
A favorite from our ceremony. I find that it looks kind of blah when uploaded to the site but the full sized image is actually really pretty…
Or a close up of my flowers. If I go this route, it will still remind me of our wedding but it won’t be painfully obvious to everyone else…
*None of the actual images will have the weird borders around them. That’s just from my screen capture software since I can’t upload straight from iPhoto.

I like the idea of using the one with the flowers. It’s unique and personal without being cheesey. But I bet if someone saw the first one, and they hadn’t seen the photo cards before, they would think it was really clever and want to see it!
That being said, if they give you the option, do whatever you want!
My bank card is an ASPCA card because that’s what I care about. You’re the one who has to look at it, might as well get some joy out of it. 🙂

I’d do the flowers for normalcy sake… but #1 is really personal and I think it would be cool and unique to have a credit card with my own wedding photo on it!

I love the first pic but I would probably go with the third one because you’re right, it’s less obvious. But if you do one of the pics do the first one! It’s great

I love this. Wish I had this option with my credit card. I like both the first photo and the flower photo.

As lovely as the other photos are, I’d go with the flowers. They’re gorgeous in and of themselves, but they have special meaning for you. I can also foresee some random/creepy comments from store clerks for the wedding shots, but more of an “oohh, pretty picture!” for the flowers.
Also, as stupid as this will sound, the flowers are feminine, identifiable, and bright — and therefore kind of foolish to steal. The other photos could be used by anyone and aren’t quite as memorable as the flowers. Maybe I’m strange that I think of these things, but just consider me another vote for a bouquet shot 😀

I voted for the flowers, but do what you want 🙂 Number 1 is def. super unique and personal, which I also like.

Go with your favourite one! Rock it!

Thanks for the feedback, ladies! It’s decided, definitely going with the photo card. Now it’s between the two pictures. As much as I love the first one (it’s become our signature wedding picture), the flowers look damn good on the card. Decisions, decisions.

I’m torn. On the one hand, I’d love my wedding bouquet on my credit card! But on the other hand, it would be cool if a cashier or someone said “Is that… a wedding photo?” and you could say it’s yours. Hmmmm….

- Wedding: August 2013 - Brookfield Zoo
I think the first one is neater! Flowers are just flowers to everyone but you, but the two of you holding hands is unique!

@KatyElle: I agree but I wonder if it would get old eventually. Maybe not. I have that picture as the background on most of my computers and I still find myself staring at it all the time.
@elysion: Thanks! I do love that pic. 🙂

My Fiance has a photo of our kittens snuggling on the card.
(yes you read that correctly)
In theory, he’s not going to pull it out at a bar or other “manly locations” as he puts it, so he doesn’t use it enough. In reality its a conversation starter- who cares what some salesperson you’ll never see again thinks of your card??? Pick what makes you happiest!
Here it is: he put blocks of his fav sports teams colors on either side to fill up space as he liked the vertical photo better than a horizontal one. oh Fiance. Am I lucky or what? 😛

I like the flowers. It’s a cool reminder pic, but it won’t appear self-indulgent the way a obvious wedding pic might. Besides, it’s a really pretty photo.
