I’m sure everything will be fine!  Everyone where you live is used to the snow so they can handle it and if you get snowed in, that might make for an even more fun party!

Ok I would be totally bummed out too BUT this is what you should do – try to convince a few friends to come over tonight and bring some alcohol – then at midnight if its not snowing yet go out to a bar!!! That way you can still get a little fun in! Then if your friends are staying the night you will all be snowed in together tomorrow and you can just party at your place ๐Ÿ™‚

Why not just do it next weekend? It’d be just as much fun then.

I agree with PitBulLover !! You could build an ice luge for your party tomorrow night too!  Have fun!!

I love this state! Sorry your party is this weekend though, this weather is going to suck! I personally love having an excuse to stay in my sweats and cuddle up with my honey and order chinese food.

Except during that last snow storm! Two of our power lines fell down!

Also, I wouldn’t encourage your friends to come over tonight unless you want them at your house all weekend. 18″ isn’t going to get plowed quickly!

We have tickets for the British Television Advertising Awards at the Walker at 9pm tonight and SO doesn’t want to go because of the weather ๐Ÿ™

Just be glad you aren’t my cousin. She is getting married tomorrow in the deep snow, and many people have let her know they are no longer coming because of the awful weather because they simply can’t travel!! ๐Ÿ™

That is why I would never, ever, ever have a winter wedding here in MN. As much as I love the idea of Bridesmaids in wool tights and Sorels…

@ILikePink: LOL I know! She thought the snow would be pretty, and I don’t think she really thought out the reality of the situation. But she’s a fun girl who makes the best of every situation, so she’s going to have a blast no matter what.

Hey, I feel you. My birthday is Dec. 22.  Last year I turned thirty, and it was one of the coldest nights of the year in Boston.  (I recognize that cold /= snow in terms of travel, but most of my friends don’t have cars and walk/bike everywhere.)  Still, I was pleasantly surprised by how many people showed up!  Fingers crossed they’ll do the same for you. Minnesotans can handle the snow, right?  My friend from way up north in MN was always pooh-poohing the snow we got in Boston as being insufficiently hardcore. ๐Ÿ™‚
