newbee5 :  He really won’t let you wear it for a week to make sure you love the diamond?  I’d want to get this straightened out before the return period is over.

And all this worry may be for not- I know people who love their ideal cut diamonds in J and K.  But I feel you need to explore this sooner rather than later.

newbee5 :  Yes. It’s an antique cushion/old mine cut.

I’m color sensitive for sure but LOVE warmer diamonds. I specifically asked for a J when considering pear diamonds because they would show more warmth at times. I have it set in rose gold and I think it’s really beautiful and never boring because it always changes lol.

In most lightning it looks like an H but there are certain lighting conditions where it’s warm and has a more of a  “yellow” hue…

I have seen K round diamonds in person, all ideal cut that barely showed any warmth whatsoever. Well cut round diamonds hide color the best IMO, especially those with a little blue fluorescence.

I think you will LOVE your diamond it will have some character for sure.

Here are two examples of my pear 🍐 and how different it can look

I have a moissanite, but it’s a F-G, and tbh I wish it was closer to a K or J. If I ever buy a diamond it will likely be something like an antique M. I love the way buttery diamonds look, they are stunning to me. I would say just hold on to the one you have until you have had the chance to wear it for a while and see if it bothers you.

I think you are going to be happy with it. Do you know the cut of it or if there’s any fluorescence by any chance ??newbee5 :

I post my ring all the time, but I have an L color diamond set in 14k yellow, and while I see warmth at times, I’ve never noticed.

marybee22 :  Ooooh, I love it! Could you please tell me the stats for your ring? If you don’t mind, what is the size of the center? I have a K solitaire I would like to rest. It sparkles like crazy!
