I am also curious about this! My fiance and I have lived together for years and already own our home so we don’t really need more STUFF for our shower.  It would be much more helpful to get help towards our honeymoon, but I feel like it’s bad or tacky and just asking people for more money, since they are typically writing you a check for your wedding anyway.

Traditionally, showers are gift giving events, so if there are no physical gifts, you should skip the shower.  There is no law saying you can’t get together for a bridesmaid luncheon or an afternoon tea with your ladies though.

Typically, (and I’m not sure since in my area/circle cash registries are highly frowned upon) as far as I know the honeyfund registry would be what people use to get you wedding gifts.
