We are doing honeyfund in addition to small registries at BBB and Macys. We live together and have household stuff already. I dont view it as asking for cash, since the honeymoon is paid in full already and we are registering for specific things not a general contribution. Our registry has excursions, massages, and dinners on the beach and to me registering for a horseback ride on the beach is no more tacky than registering for china. So far our guests seem to love it and we got lots of complements about it being such a great idea.

I think it’s okay as long as you are really planning on using the money for your honeymoon. I think it’s nice to actually use the funds on what people have gifted you. My fiance and I paid for our honeymoon and then are using our registry as a unique way for guests to give a gift certificate to the spa or an activity on the honeymoon location.

There’s no cut taken on my registry.  You can choose (only with HoneymoonWishes) to have the guest pay the fee.  My guests have had no issue, it’s just like a sales tax or something.

And like PP said, it’s not to pay for our Honeymoon.  It’s to have unique experiences that we may not otherwise have, if not for our awesome friends and family.  Kiss
