I upgraded. I thought it was worth it since it made it seem more legit. I thought it would make my friends and family more comfortable doing it, since it isn’t that well known yet, and with our pictures playing on the web I thought it would make them more confident in their purchase.

I didn’t upgrade ours. It’s a nice upgrade, but I didn’t feel it was necessary for us.

I did upgrade.  It just looked so much nicer, and even if their stats are confounded about more gift money, I thought it was a more legitimate-seeming gift option for my guests.  I added pictures for all the events, a nice background, etc.  And $29 in the scheme of wedding planning is sadly nothing.

I can’t give you much feedback on whether it’s worth it, because so far only a few things have been “purchased” for my first shower (wedding is still a couple months off).  But I have gotten a couple great gifts (i.e. someone bought wine tasting plus lunch at a winery, ~$100, that I think is much sweeter than a check).

It’s your decision, but I feel happy that I upgraded.  Plus I don’t mind supporting the site, since they don’t charge a fee.

I had some of my bridesmaids take a look at ours, and it was a resounding no- do not upgrade, it doesn’t make a difference.

I did not upgrade.  You are able to upload 1 photo without upgrading so guests still knew it was “legit” as it was US in the photo and my description was very “me”.  I personally don’t think it’s worth it, it’s like you’re spending money to ask for money in a way, and although it makes sense that some think it’s worth it to make it seem more legit, I just didn’t see the need.  Maybe it depends on your wedding size and how many people you know very well?  We have about 100 and know them well/have talked to many about the site, so that may play a factor in your decision.

We didn’t upgrade either.  it’s really is a prefernce though because when you gift it to people, it really does say to please send the check to the address or give it at the shower or wedding.  There’s comfort in that for the guest knowing that we are the ones receivign the gift and not a third party.
