You are beautiful and nothing should hold you back from enjoying the honeymoon you want!

There are tons of articles about buying the right bathing suit for your shape…try checking out those.  If you’re still uncomfortable, invest in a sarong or a cute sundress to wear on the beach.

There are plenty of people of every shape and size at every resort you could possibly go to.  Trust me – you will not “be the whale on the beach”!

I agree with the PPs recommendation of looking into the shapes and cuts of suits that will help flatter your shape.  I know there have been some threads in the past with some links to great websites for bathing suits for plus-sized women.

I’m worried about this but honestly? We have time to get into shape before our weddings! You have even more time than I do. The honeymoon is motivating me even more than the wedding.

@MrsManni:  We’re total beach bums and LOVE all-inclusives.  We always feel so pampered and relaxed after we come back.  I’m about a size 18 right now, but vacationed last spring at size 22.  Honestly…everyone on vacation is so wrapped up in their own thing – their companions, their books, their activities, what have you – that nobody paid any attention to me or my cellulite!  And if they had, how sad for them to be on a beautiful beach and caring about little ol’ me.

I understand that it may not be all about what others think of your appearance, but more about how you feel.  You do have time to tone up a bit if you’re not happy with how you look.  But if you’re otherwise happy with yourself and are just nervous about baring your body in front of strangers, just remember you will never EVER see these people again.  It helps me to think that when I arrive at the beach on the first day.  After that, I’m too busy enjoying my palapa and the tropical breeze to care! Like PPs said you are beautiful no matter what size/shape you are and they’re will be all size/shapes there. I know it can drive you crazy hearing that because even though that’s all sweet and true it doesn’t change how you feel.

This being said and me being a size 16 as well and my Fiance being very big. (6′ 320lbs) I understand where you are coming from.

We decided on a honeymoon that didn’t involve sand and sun. We are taking a cruise to Alaska.

In the end do whatever your heart desires. It is your honeymoon and you are going to be so happy and in love that hopefully you won’t notice anyone else but each other.

I have the same feeling. I have not scheduled a honeymoon because of it, but we both need to suck it up screw other people and enjoy our time with our new hubbies.
