chrissy2019 :  I haven’t been to any of the places you listed but I’ve always wanted to go to the Keys!

I also would suggest Hilton Head Island. I’ve been there for a long weekend and it was so pretty. I feel like there’s a lot of outdoorsy things if you’re in to that. I went kayaking in the ocean and dolphins swam around us 🙂

We are also in the Carolinas and we are going to Turks and Caicos, less than 2 hour flight from Fort Lauderdale.

Although it is obviously not warm now, Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the country! Lots of awesome beach towns nearby as well, we love Folly

Currently lying on the beach in the Bahamas. We live it down here but it is insanely expensive. We fly down a cooler and a bunch of dry foods to save on costs which I would highly recommend if you end up down here. The beaches are amazing and that’s really what we come for.

We honeymooned in Charleston (from upstate SC) and it was nice, but I prefer the beaches on the gulf in Florida personally. Siesta Key is one of our favorites and you can fly anywhere down there cheap on Allegiant. It’s not touristy, but if you prefer more stuff to do there are so many options up and down that coast. Those keys are way better than the actual keys IMO. We’ve also been to the Florida Keys, and while the water is beautiful, the beaches are basically non-existent. Very rocky and no sand to speak of. Also no waves. Not my idea of a tropical paradise unless you stick to the resort pool. Again, just my .02! If you want to stay local, I prefer Savannah over Charleston. And a cruise would be fun too! Lots of ports close by. We’re taking a trip for our anniversary in March and I’m trying to decide the same thing as you.

ETA: We are very seriously considering Jamaica!

I’m assuming you want something tropical but if you’re open to something else, we’re renting a cabin in the smoky mountains..they have tons of gorgeous ones and prices aren’t bad!
