We were very fortunate to live in Australia for a while, so Fiji was relatively nearby. I can highly recommend Makaira Resort on Taveuni Island in Fiji, absolutely loved it there! The people, snorkeling and food are amazing, I would love to go back for my honeymoon. Unfortunately cost won’t allow it since we now don’t live as close anymore. http://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Hotel_Review-g297562-d1224574-Reviews-Makaira_Resort-Taveuni_Island.html

As for New Zealand, I haven’t seen a whole lot of it but for what it’s worth this is my 2 cents. It’s a gorgeous country with spectacular and diverse landscapes, I feel like it’s more of a road trip/active/outdoorsy destination. I was at the South Island in January of this year and although beautiful, the water was soooo cold I didn’t even swim! Summer in NZ is sunny, but water temperatures may not be very warm. Fiji on the other hand really is your tropical island destination, so I’d say it depends on what type of trip you are after.

Have fun planning, they’re both fantastic travel destinations ๐Ÿ™‚

NZ is a beautiful place to travel and can be very romantic- I’d highly recommend the Bay of Islands, the Coromandel and Queenstown. There’s a mix of beautiful beaches, nature walks and adventurey things (bungy jumping) if you’re into it.
