Has anyone honeymooned at the Atlantis? If so, which hotel did you stay at? We only have a week for our honeymoon (and live on the east coast) so Bahamas is a good choice. My Fiance is not the type of person who can just lay on the beach (ie, needs LOTS of activity) so I thought the Atlantis might be a good option. I have been to the Bahamas, but never stayed at the Atlantis.

That is one of our choices as well. So I hope somebody has some insight! It looks like it can be costly unless you get a room in the Beach Tower I believe. But there looks like a lot to do!

We went to the Atlantis in June of 2007. We stayed at the then newly opened Cove hotel. I gotta tell you it was FANTASTIC! While the Cove accomodations are far better than the other towers/hotels, we didn’t really use the Cove pool or club. It was nice but we just didn’t use it. Still I recommend staying at the cove. It rained a lot while we were there so we spent quite a bit of time indoors. It’s also got a better feel if you’re honeymooning because it’s adult-oriented. The rest of Atlantis is very family-oriented so there are kids everywhere.
We spent most of our days in the best lazy river in the world or in one of the pools. In the evenings, we wen to the Casino or just walked around. However, we also played tennis we went kayaking, and swam with dolphins. There’s so many things to do there that anyone can find something to occupy themselves. In fact, when we left, my Fiance wanted to have his bachelor party there because there was something to make everyone happy.
If you do stay at the Atlantis, I would be aware of the cost of food. It’s a little ridiculous. If you can, I would highly recommend eating outside of the resort. We didn’t and everywhere we went, though the food was phenomenal, it was pricey. The only eatery that I think was priced well was Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay’s restaurant) and that’s only because it’s a celebrity chef’s restaurant. Have fun at the Atlantis and make sure to get some Rum cake while you’re there – it’s heavenly!
