Hello! I’m new to this forum.
I am driving myself insane trying to figure out where to go for our Honeymoon. I have spoken to numerous travel agents but just can’t seem to pull the trigger on any package.
Our budget for the Honeymoon is 6-7k (not including food). Our ideal length of stay is 7-10 days.
We are getting married in July 2012 but not going on our Honeymoon until the end of August. With that being said, the Caribbean and most of Central America are ruled out due to hurricane’s and the fact it is the rainy season. Plus, both her and I have been to the Caribbean numerous times already. The same goes for Hawaii. We have visited the islands a couple times already and would like to head somewhere else for our honeymoon.
As far as Mexico goes….I don’t this my Fiancee will enjoy sitting on the beach with a bullet proof vest 😉
We were looking at heading to either Greece or the South Pacific (Tahiti, Fiji). Unfortunately, neither place seems to be falling in our budget. Both places are falling in around 8-9k not including food or activities.
This is where we are at right now. We would like to go to someplace warm and tropical. I just have no idea where to go! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would never recommend that you make a decision based on fear. I had a couple earlier this year that chose Hawaii only because they were so worried about hurricanes. THey never anticipated that a hurricane could prevent them from leaving their departure city of Washington DC.
Despite what you hear on the news, Mexico is very safe and beautiful! I am headed there twice this month. We have clients in Mexico year round, and have never had anyone experience anything worse than a sunburn or a hangover. The beaches are amazing, and the people are some of the friendliest that you’ll meet.
Some islands, such as a Aruba, are a bit more hurricane safe than others.
But again, if there is someplace that you’ve always wanted to go, don’t rule it out because of weather. It’s completely beyond your control. And, that’s what trip insurance is for.

My Fiance and I braved Costa Rica in August (mid-late) and it was fantastic!!! Most excursions are in the morning when it’s sunny and beautiful and by 1pm-2pm it gets a bit overcast and then it rains for an hour or so…I think it only rained an entire night on 1 out of our 9 nights there! I say go for Central America…esp Costa Rica because the roundtrip flight is very affordable!
