After much research, worry, and a cancelled LuxuryLink reservation (do NOT use them – the pictures on their website are not accurate, and they were rude and completely unapologetic about the misrepresentation!), we finally really booked our honeymoon!
We are going to the Catalonia Royal Bavaro, an adults-only all-inclusive (i.e. exactly what we wanted). We have a big jacuzzi in-room, a king sized four poster bed, and – my favorite – a hammock on the balcony! <3 They have pool service, beach service, and 24 hour room service, so we can be as lazy as we like hehe. The reviews are great on tripadvisor, and I’m just SO EXCITED 🙂 The fact that we got a great deal and a direct JetBlue flight certainly helps!
I just want to share my excitement with you lovely ladies, and of course I’d love any tips or pointers you have about Punta Cana or the DR in general.

We were in Punta Cana for a vacation in January and it was divine! I’m sure you will love it!

Looks wonderful! How did you book it?

@twodoghouse: Yay! So good to hear 🙂
@missfroggy: I ended up using CheapCaribbean.com – the price was amazing, the customer service has been great, and they offer free Weather Protection trip insurance, which is key for our September trip.

@sarahbabs: That sounds great! I went to Punta Cana last March and it was absolutely beautiful! The beaches are incredible – white sand, water as blue as can be. You’ll have a great time. 🙂

@sarahbabs: We honeymooned in Punta Cana as well. It was SOOOOOO beautiful. We stayed at the Hard Rock Resort.
I would definitely recommend going on a snorkeling day trip–I am sure you will be able to book one through your hotel. We went on one to Saona island–about a 45 minute boat ride from Punta Cana, and it was absolutely incredible. There is also a “natural swimming pool” in the sea close by… a mile from shore and the water is only waist deep! Beautiful!!! There is so much to see around the area… we are glad we spent the extra $200 and took the trip.

@September29Runner: I’ve done a TON a research on all-inclusives, so feel free to PM me if you have any questions 🙂
@couawilou: Thanks dear! After the wedding (and the year we’ve had), I think we’ll need it lol
@AshleyR83: Yay! I’m so happy to hear that!
@MissDareDevil: Ooooh, that sounds incredible! I was actually looking at Saona Island, but wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. Glad to hear it is! Thanks for the tip dear 🙂
