Men are task and deadline oriented so make sure to give him a deadline if you want him to move fast 🙂

We’re hittting up St. Lucia’s Ladera and Sandals as we’ve been to both the Eastern and Western Carribean already. I highly recommend if you can’t choose a specific island to consider a cruise — you get a taste of several islands.

Margarita is lovely.  It’s still relatively unspoilt and unknown. (Not that I’ve honeymooned there)

@VegasVintage:  FH was kind of in charge of our honeymoon as well…after he hemmed and hawed, he finally talked to a travel agent, and we decided on St. Lucia also.  The island doesnt have a whole lot of history, so there isn’t a ton of sight seeing – more time to relax on the beach!  Plus its got the great scenery, similar to bora bora.  We’re staying at an all-inclusive and very excited!

I’ve been on a Caribbean cruise. Is that perhaps an option? So easy to plan, because the cruise does so much of the planning for you! And you get to see several lovely locations. 🙂

I guess it depends on what you’re looking for?  I’ve been to St. Thomas, Anguilla, and the Bahamas, but I’d have different things to say about each of them.

We were also overwhelmed by all the choices in the Caribbean.  If you have some ideas in mind for what you want to do, it’s a little easier to narrow it down.

I personally love Barbados. It has the perfect climate (30 C/86 F) pretty much every day and it does that tropical thing of raining only once a day and then going back to being beautiful very quickly.  The people are incredibly friendly and I’ve always felt very safe and comfortable there.

In comparison, Jamaica for example has such a high crime rate that you basically need to stay on the resort. Grenada seemed relatively safe also, but men would catcall at me (I think because I’m a redhead and therefore very pale) which made me uncomfortable.

Plus, Barbados has monkeys! I took this picture from our porch the last time we were there. There were about 5 monkeys that played in our yard almost daily.

We’re going to Aruba and staying at an all inclusive resort. I have been there before and it was above all my favorite Caribbean island. (I’ve also been to Dominican Rep., Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Belize, and various places in Mexico)
