We went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and stayed at Majestic Elegance. We paid $3400 for airfare from Los Angeles, 8 nights in an upgraded “adult only” room/section, all-inclusive, and airport transportation. It was a great deal and soooo perfect!!

You may want to look at costco travel… Sounds funny but they have some good deals, it may be worth looking into 🙂

We met with a travel adget a few weeks ago.. she was wonderful! In general Mexico resorts are A LOT cheaper then in the Carribean.  We are going to Riviera Maya, Mexico! All inclusive for 7 nights!

Our wedding budget is $10,000, I think it’ll come out to about $8k all told. We’re planning a simple, cheap(ish) honeymoon in Atlantic City because we’re due back to university a few weeks after the wedding, it’s in the high summer (end of July) so going anywhere warm then is out, and we’re students, so we’re broke. It’ll cost about $4000.

When we graduate, we plan on going to Rome, Venice, Paris and Marseilles for three weeks to celebrate (we already have a savings account in its honor lol).

Though AC will be our ‘honeymoon’, we really just don’t consider it life changing. We live together, we’re anticipating having many years just the two of us. Plenty of time to take awesome vacations.

Our budget is about $20,000 for the honeymoon. Surprised We are planning on touring Europe and figured we might as well go big because about 6-months after the honeymoon we want to try to start a family, so we figured this will be our last big vacation for a long time.

try dominican republic, mexico or costa rica! there are some fabulous resorts, amazing beaches, and prices should be much lower than barbados, bahamas, st lucia etc. just as beautiful too!

your money will go alot farther for excursions, meals etc.

mm… yep. That’s about right. I told fiance that a couple months ago. lol We figure we’ll only get one wedding and one honeymoon so… we’re not skimping much with the honeymoon. For the wedding we’ve cut back though. Honeymoon budget is around 10k, as is the wedding. bleh. Stupid money!

@Southerngirl4234:  check into Dominican Republic and Mexico. Those will be your cheapest options.

I feel your pain. Lucky for me my Fiance agreed we should skimp on the wedding and splurge on the honeymoon. So the wedding budget was $13k (went over and spent closer to $15k with help from both our families) and the honeymoon which we booked last night a 12 day trip to Belize just the flight and hote, foodl and some of the tours included came to $5k. Our budget is $10k for the diving, drinking, shopping etc so I think we will stay under. We are using tax refunds and wedding gifts as the spending money too. Honeymoon was a huge deal for both of us though because we want to TTC when we get back so who knows how long it will be before we take another big trip like that;) Good luck;)

@Southerngirl4234:  as pp suggested, look into dominican republic or mexico’s riviera maya.  you will get a wonderful all-inclusive for 7 nights within your budget.

i have been to many islands all over the carribean and some are very expensive but they are all very similar.

punta cana, dr has a gorgeous beach and is very reasonably priced.  they have some amazing highend resorts there.  i’ve been to the majestic where
