Italy or Scotland?
I’ve always had my heart set on Scotland and the fiance on Italy. We wouldn’t mind going to either, but we plan to tour by car rental. Whichever we don’t do, we know we will visit eventually, but kids might be in tow by then and I think Italy would have more for them to see. A friend of mine has said driving in Italy extremely fast – but the fiance might love that. We love food, history, and scenic views (I’m geared towards Southern Italy’s volcanoes), but I don’t know how much Scottish food is appetizing but we do love whiskey. Italy would have no issues with us food-wise, but the fiance doesn’t like wine. We are getting married on Nov. 11th and the honeymoon would be shortly after whether immediately or within a week (maybe during Thanksgiving). This is the cheapest and less crowded time to go for both countries and both are similar in cost at least for airlines. I’m not really sure how expensive hotels in Italy are for the late autumn, but I know after the first 10 days of November, prices fall.We are flying from Dallas so the plane trip itself will be long no matter what. I think Italy has so much to see in a short time. Scotland, we could do just a week in the car and go at a leisurely pace.
Can anyone give some more pros/cons of either? Anything to help us decide would be appreciated!
