I come to you in a time of need! Fiance and I are having a hard time deciding where to go to for our honeymoon… We both love to travel, both to old & beloved, and new places. We’d like to go somewhere really romantic, but where we can also get the most from our $, and hopefully would like to combine relaxing beaches and the big, cosmopolitan city. We’re thinking 3 weeks.
So far, we’ve come up with 2 really, really, ridiculously good options 🙂
1) Thailand + Paris: since we live in Chile, and there’s really no short and inexpensive way to get there, we figured, why not fly through Europe and spend 3-4 days in Paris on our way back to Chile! I think this is a great option, since we get to relax (we’re thinking Bangkok, Phuket-Ko Phi Phi, Ko Samui, Ko Tao), will be going somewhere none of us has been before, and we can stay at really nice hotels (which we could not afford anywhere else but Asia, probably). And, get a taste of Europe, too!
2) Greek Islands, Italy and France: see, this is where I have a hard time. Part of me thinks going to Europe is something we will probably be able to do again during our life, and going to Thailand is probably less expensive, but… still, I can’t help but feel it’s THE. most. romantic. place, I think, to be on your honeymoon. Drawback is, it’s much colder (we’re leaving Oct 23, the day after our wedding), and we’d probably have to stay in hotels not as nice as those in Thailand.
So… have you been to Thailand? Or honeymooned there? What would you choose? Any advice is welcome!
