Hello bees! My wedding is still very far out, but this had been the one thing my Fiance are really excited about. (Not that we aren’t excited for the wedding, but the honeymoon is 100% for us). We originally weren’t thinking that we would be able to afford or honeymoon and thought that we would just go to a nearby bed and breakfast for an extended weekend our something. We have been gifted with money, not a terrible lot but enough for a decent honeymoon and have just been going back and fOrth talking about ideas. So why ate some good destinations for honeymoons? We don’t want to just lay on the beach the entire vacation but would also like to do stuff while there. So any suggestions woukd be welcome? Also, what would your dream honeymoon have been? Where did you end up going?

I think it depends on how much you want to spend. An all inclusive in mexico or a cruise may be your most inexpensive vacation, but you may not get to do as much if you don’t pay for excursions. Some sites like cheapcarribean have amazing deals (that’s what I used). For adventure, I’d love a trip to Australia or backpacking through Europe!

I’m not really a fan of all inclusives so that wouldn’t be my first choice. I always recommend Hawaii because you can lay on the beach but also hike and other adventures. We plan on getting married in Hawaii and doing our honeymoon in Bora Bora which is my dream honeymoon! Good luck and have fun!

How long will your honeymoon be? What do you both like to do? If you have weeks, you could go international. Wine country in northern CA can be scenic and active and romantic, and you could detour to San Francisco or Monterey too. For our upcoming honeymoon, we are going to Florida to enjoy the beaches and hiking and warm weather this winter, and then in the spring, we are going to Ireland with plans TBD.

craigslistgirl: we have already been to California in a family vacation and do not have the desire to honeymoon there. we woukd probably have a week to ten days for a honeymoon. My Fiance has an anxiety on planes so I’m not sure he could do a Trip to ireland. I ideally would like to go to Greece.
ksn1219: Hawaii was an option for us.
Again we are just throwing out some idea. Some crazy and just for fun, but some articles I’ve read for nice honeymoons have been places I haven’t even heard of!

Puerto Rico is where we went. We had some beach time, but we also explored the historic city of Old San Juan and got a tour of the Spanish forts, visited the birth place of the Pina Colada, toured the Bacardi Distillery, and got to see the Ponce De Leon family home and other cool things. We took a hike through the El Yunque Rainforest and got to swim in a waterfall lagoon, and we did a lot of shopping and enjoyed the local cuisine. I know there are all kinds of other activities such as water sports and they have the bioluminescent bay which is pretty cool. Good luck!

Based on what you’re saying, I’d check out Thailand, Hawaii or Fiji. They all have a good mix of beach and activities.

We were thinking all inclusive but ended up deciding on Hawaii! We are doing a week in Kauai with car hotel and air fair $3,200! We are really excited and decides Hawaii because we wanted to be out and about hiking and exploring and that’s not as much of a option when you do a out of country all inclusive! So it just depends on what you wanna do! If you don’t drink a lot its not really worth it! But if you just wanna hang out all inclusive is good! I would make a list of things you want to do and go from there!
