Hello! Actually, Sandals are really awesome resorts for honeymooners, but it just depends on what you are looking for. There are so many resort options to choose from, even within the Sandals brand. You can’t go wrong with Sandals LaSource Grenada, Sandals Barbados, or Sandals La Toc & Sandals Grande St. Lucian. Do you have any destinations/islands you are interested in? Are there any destinations you don’t want to go to? What activities do you want to do? Basically, what are your ‘must-haves’ on your honeymoon? It also depends on your budget. The Sandals resorts are all very different, so it depends on what you want out of your honeymoon. One resort might be perfect for a couple looking to relax, but another couple might be bored out of their mind at that same property. Sandals Resorts aren’t in Mexico, so if you are looking at that destination, I highly recommend Excellence Resorts (especially Playa Mujeres!).

I say no. There’s no luxury like boutique luxury to me. Too many people at those resorts, kills the seclusion feeling I want for the honeybunny.

I would look into Couples Resorts in Jamaica. We stayed at Tower Isle for our honeymoon and loved it! It is the smallest of their resorts, and we never felt over crowded. They are slightly cheaper than Sandals, but they offer more free excursions, and I’ve seen others say the food is much better. I can’t personally compare Sandals to Couples, but I know we enjoyed every minute of it, and the food, service, and excursions were fantastic. The Couples chain also pays and treats their employees very well, and that comes through in the level of service. Unlike Sandals, every single client receives the same level of service regardless of which room type you’re in. They also have a no tipping policy which is really nice.

I went to Sandals Ocho Rios ( Jamaica) many years ago with an ex boyfriend. We went over Christmas. It was beautiful, not overcrowded, good food, good service, etc. I highly recommend Sandals!  My only complaint was that it was NOT SAFE to wander around outside of the resort. We were warned not to wear jewelry off the resort, and to avoid certain parts of the island. The people were obviously very poor and we were hit up for money mulitiple times.

This was many years ago ( 15???? or more???)  so things may be completely different in Jamaica, now.

Nay. Got married at one. Not impressed. For that money you can find something soooo much better.

We went to sandals ochi for our honeymoon,  and it was amazing.    Our room was in the riviera building,  right on the beach.   The food was great,  the drinks were great,  and it wasn’t crowded.  We had an amazing time,  and can’t wait to return.   Everyone there is very nice,  and laid back.

We had our “weddingmoon” at Sandals Negril and loved it.  We booked a return trip before we even left the resort.

We went to sandals Antigua and really enjoyed it. I can see where some would be disappointed but it was perfect for us. beautiful grounds, lots of food, and quiet little places to relax for the day. We’re not terribly social tbough so the lack of nightlife didn’t bother us and we were content to stay within the gates of the resort the whole time so i can’t vouch for any excursions.

I would just do a ton of research on Trip Advisor – read lots of reviews, look at pictures, etc.  We did that and decided on Excellence Playa Majures instead of Sandals (in Mexico).

I highly recommend Excellence Resorts. We stayed in the there (Riveria Maya) based on friends recommendations and had a great week. Less locations to choose from than Sandals, but had everything we could need/want for a honeymoon.

We decided on Sandals, it’s pricey, but, what the heck.  We haven’t figured out which one yet though.
