What about someplace like Italy? You’d have the Mediterranean coast if you felt like doing more sun stuff, but there would be lots of history, museums, churches to explore if you wanted to be inside!

how about a cruise? that way Fiance can be outside in the sun and you can be out for a bit, but also be inside at points so you don’t get too much sun exposure. Also, you can plan excursions where you aren’t always outside.

We are going to Quebec City, Canada this summer for our honeymoon. It has an old european look to it….plenty of shopping, museums, tours, etc. We could not afford to go to Europe so we researched the internet and found Quebec City. For outdoor activities there is the beautiful St. Lawrence river perfect for boating or dinner cruises. There is also Mont Morency waterfall nearby.  Plane tickets and hotel reservations that we have reserved are a WAY less expensive than the budget that we had for our original Hawaii idea. I’m not much of an outdoorsy person and I don’t like to swim that much..I wasn’t really into the Hawaii idea to begin with. My fiance loves the idea of Quebec City..and loves that it is so inexpensive..haha. You can google or youtube Quebec City and there are some beautiful photos.

I definitely vote for Europe. Where in Europe is a matter of more specific interests. Castles? Museums? Beach? Nature? Shopping? Food? Almost anywhere in Europe will give you a lot of options in all of these fields. Think about whether you want somewhere secluded/romantic like Ireland bed-and-breakfasts or a big city with a lot to do, like Paris.

If your budget is on the smaller side—though Ireland could be pretty affordable–I would look at the Americas. If you want to stay close and feel like you’ve gone far go to Montreal or New Orleans. Further south consider Buenos Aires–Brazil too, but that can get pricey.

Yes, I have been on a couple of cruises. Just so you know, people are constantly cleaning, but I understand your thing about germs, especially if you have a low immune system. There are a lot of things to do on a cruise. I spend some time laying out, but as I have fair skin I can’t do that for long. You can eat any time you want. They have a gym, spa, areas where you can sit inside and read(did that one day when there was a nasty storm in Panama and we watched the storm). They have movies, casino, mini golf, shopping, vegas style shows at night and other things that I probably didn’t even realize.

They have excursions at each port and maybe you can find some that will satisfy both of you. You just need to figure out what you would like to do because the islands are all different. check out cruisecritic.com as you can get a lot of advice from people there.

the cruise Fiance and I are thinking about going on will leave the day after your wedding from Miami. The stops are a private island in the bahamas, san juan, st. thomas and grand turk. Never been to any of those places, so I am very excited!
