Do you want a sunny destination?  Florida? California? Arizona is starting to cool off (sorta) that time of year, too.

You could do a romantic mountain getaway, too!

I would start with a budget. There are tons of places you can go for 5 days! Hawaii would be my top choice. Napa/San Francisco, CA would also be a close second.

If you’re on a budget but looking for something sunny, gorgeous, and close check out Puerto Rico. We love it there. The Wyndham Rio Mar or the Conquistador would be my picks on where to stay.

Check cheapcarribean.com they have great deals all of the time, especially last minute deals.

we’re in a similar situation. we had to move our honeymoon up, so we’ve been trying to find something affordable as fast as we can. groupon and livingsocial are good places to look.

Hawaii’s always an option.

If you’d like to see some of the most spectacular coastline in the country, Central California’s worth a trip.  Big Sur, Monterey, Santa Cruz areas are gorgeous.  San Francisco’s also supposed to be amazing.  September is one of the best times of year up there.

You could go the the Caribbean. You don’t need a passport to go to Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands or any of the Keys

If you are willing to pay for expedited service, you can get passports in 2-3 weeks: http://travel.state.gov/passport/processing/processing_1740.html

Otherwise, I second Puerto Rico. It’s a gorgeous beachy place with delicious food. Since you are so crunched on time, I would just go on Kayak.com and figure out the best air fares you can get for your specific dates.

Since you’re going from Houston (it’s super hot these days isn’t it?!!) and you can’t leave the US, I would recommend going somewhere on the West Coast for your honeymoon. If you want to go somewhere beachy, go to San Diego! You can find a nice resort that’s not too expensive and get plenty of beach time, plus the zoo there is great and there are tons of other things to do. If you want to go on an adventure and you are somewhat outdoorsy, you should go to Seattle – spend 3 nights in Seattle and 2 nights on Orcas Island or San Juan Island. Trust me, it’s an amazing place and I can PM you all kinds of things to do there. The weather in the Northwest is beautiful this time of year – it’s in the 70s and sunny most days – so it would be a great getaway from Houston.

Think about Puerto Rico… you don’t need a passport, it doesn’t take that long to get there, but it feels like a tropical vacation!
