I need advice on what to do for my honeymoon.. My fiance and I have only done cruises before- never all inclusive. He’s a bit worried to do an AI for our Honeymoon however i’m down to try it. His concern is that we’re going to be bored all day at an AL. But if we were to do a cruise we’d have to go back to work for a week after our wedding and before the Honeymoon. I just feel as though that is silly.
So can you Bees give us the best resorts (and your experience with them) in Cancun or Punta Cana? Stuff like the excursions that you did, how the food/drinks were, everything.
Thanks alot 🙂

@bnichols179: all inclusives are great. you don’t have to worry about a budget for food and drinks. most good resorts have all day activities so you cannot get bored.
i’ve been to both punta cana and cancun. cancun/riviera maya has so many things to see and do off the resort. way more activities and tours than punta cana. i think you would be surprised.
there are many threads with great cancun resorts. it all depends on your budget and what your expectations are. also, the coast is big so location is key.

@bnichols179: I’ve been to a few all -inclusives and never gotten bored. And I’m the type of person that gets bored easily. There are always activities going on, and if you want a quiet day, you can just choose to not participate. Plus you’ll make friends with other people there and become vacation bffs. lol. My SO and I always end up striking great friendships with other couples.
I’d recommend checking out Secrets resorts. I’ve stayed at the ones in Puerto Vallarta and in Maroma (near Cancun) and they are perfect for honeymoons. Adults only, 24 hr room service, hot tubs in every rooms, no reservations needed for restaurants, drink and food service on the beach/pool, LOVE them! I’ve been to Sandals in Antigua and thought the service at Secrets was way way better. If you or your FH get bored easily, I think maybe Cancun might be better. You can always leave the resort and walk around, it’s very safe in the hotel zone and SO many different excursions….Chichen Itza, Tulum ruins, Coba, Cenotes, Xel Ha, etc. Never been to Punta Cana so I don’t know what the town there is like if you get antsy at the resort. Good luck with the Honeymoon planning!
