Where do you live? I haven’t been to Bali, but have taken some pretty exotic vacations and only once stayed at an all-inclusive (never again). We loved Costa Rica, Ecuador and Galapagos Islands was absolutely amazing, Thailand, Tanzania and South Africa, Iceland and Greece are among my favorite vacations.

I will say, that I’m much more of an adventure vacationer than someone who likes to sit on the beach with a cocktail, so if relaxing and chill is more your style, this may not be helpful.

Bali is amazing!!! We loved it there. We stayed on Legian beach since we didn’t want to be right on Kuta (which is the crazy party zone), so we were about a 20 minute walk down the beach to the downtown area…which was perfect for us. We stayed at a hotel that included breakfast, but that was it. The local restaurants are the way to go.

Check out Hanging Gardens in Ubud. It’s off the main “tourist” beach, but it’s worth taking a day or two to go out there. Most beautiful and peaceful hotel there too. I had the best spa day of my life! We rented a driver for the day and that was 100% the way to go. We got to see the rice fields and sunset on the cliffs. Don’t drive in Bali…it’s craycray!!

If you’re a surfing couple go to DreamLand beach. It’s a taxi ride away, but it’s awesome. If you’re a golfing couple, head to Nusa Dua..my Fiance had an amazing day of golf there. He said best views ever. Also LPT: Nusa Dua is where all the 5 star hotels are so the beaches are pristine!!! You have to have access through the hotels, but that’s where you should stay if you’re looking for the best beach with the clearest water.

Anyway…Bali was our best trip and where we definitely want to return one day!!

We mostly did things on our own except we did a one day tour that took us whitewater rafting and to the coffee plantations and then past the kintamani volcano. It was a full-day tour but so worth it! The rest of the time we found plenty of shopping, relaxing, and eating to do. I would not rent a scooter if I were you because driving there is so crazy, but to each their own. We did meet an Australian guy who got into a scooter accident and broke his leg and they confiscated his passport until hospital bills were paid so….

Food was amazing! Super cheap and lots of variety. Jaffles and papaya shakes were some of our favorites 🙂
