I am incredibly indecisive and my fiance is a bit stressed out with work to discuss honeymoons ( just until next week, but i want to get this rolling!!) He cant sit still on a beach for more than 10 minutes lol so we are looking for something thats a good mix of relaxing and fun!
We also just bought a house so we are not able to spend tons on a trip.. these places are all so different…thoughts?!

A road trip gives you the most flexibility in terms of how long you want to be out and about and how you want to spend your money. With the international ones, I imagine you’d have to start booking early and would have little wiggle room if you needed to change things up. I’ve heard lots of good things about doing the PCH drive up/down the coast.

I’ve been to Ireland and Costa Rica. Both were wonderful trips. Costa Rica is definitely cheaper. We booked everything except for the flights using Anywhere Costa Rica, and spent $3500 total. It was a good mix of relaxation and activities. I loved Ireland too, but it was more go, go, go.

Will you be TTC? Consider Zika may be there?

I voted Ireland because I have always wanted to go. It looks beautiful, has romantic castles and nice country land. Costa Rica in theory sounds awesome but the GIANT creepy bugs…no thanks

Hmmm… it depends on where you live and what you like doing…
Ireland is a road trip kind of honeymoon, but there are only a few larger cities with things to do. Some people (like my hairdresser) LOVED it, becuase there was nature, castles, and breweries. I’m not a huge fan, because none of those things appeal to me.
PCH roadtrip is beautiful (we did it last summer), and there are some really good websites to help you plan where to stop and see tourist-y things. If you don’t live on the west coast this could be cool for you.
I would personally choose Costa Rica. If you like beaches it is an option, but there is a lot of adventure things you can do like zip lining, which I highly recommend. I also like to be exposed to other cultures when I travel so that kind of thing is exciting to me. I would say that Zika is a real concern so if you are TTC this year, you should probably avoid this.
Do you have a budget you can share if you are open to other honeymoon ideas? I suggest it all the time, but we went to Bali last year and stayed in a private willa with our own pool for $3500 (including flights) for 10 nights last October. There is a ton to do and the beaches aren’t that great so you won’t be tempted to spend all day on them haha.

If you are on a budget then going to Ireland might be the most expensive option. It is lovely and there is alot to do. The California road trip is fun, it is also beautiful BUT not as romantic as you might think. Spending all day in a car is not a relaxing honeymoon IMO. You can always stop for the fun little attractions but there is also long streches of nothing. Costa Rica would give you the best options for what you are both looking for
