I need some help with honeymoon destination ideas and I thought I would come here to see if I’m missing anything! So many bees from around the world:) My husband and I are planning on going mid February on a honeymoon. He really wants an island, whereas I really want somewhere different that we wouldn’t typically go to. We were originally looking into islands in southeast Asia (ie Bali), but it appears that time of the year is known for humidity and rain. We have two ideas right now, Hawaii (expensive and we have both been there) and the Philippines (LONG flight from the east coast of the USA). I would like to try something new from the Caribbean as I’ve been there many times.
Wondering if anyone has a nice idea for a honeymoon spot in Feb?

We just got back from Anguilla and it was beautiful. Lots of great restaurants and gorgeous beaches. It’s a very quiet island so it depends on what you want.

Penang in Malaysia. We went for Chinese New Year once (end of Feb that year) and it was AMAZING. It was a bit humid yes, but nothing too bad. It is an island too so you do get some nice sea breezes.
We stayed at the Rasa Sayang resort in the Rasa Wing. It was a bit more expensive but was adults only. For the extra money you got a nicer room, a choice to have breakfast in the posh a la carte restaurant (you could go to the amazing buffet if you wanted) afternoon tea (so nice) and at 7pm free all you can eat drinks and hot nibbles – drinks included sparkling wine. You also had access to an adults only pool where you got free soft drinks a cold towel twice a day and a fruit kebab twice a day.
We LOVED this holiday. The spa in the hotel is amazing. We only went out of the hotel once to do a hike through a national park which was nice (but hot) but we were only there a few days before heading back to Hong Kong.
Would also suggest Hong Kong at that time of year. It is a pleasant warm. You might need a light jacket some days but that is all.

Costa Rica is awesome. You can hit the coast for a few days for beaches and then go to Monteverde and Arenal for the rainforest, volcano/hot springs, and adventure (ziplining, rafting, canyoning).
Cartagena and the surrounding area is also amazing and very inexpensive. I would stay for a few days in the historic part of town and then head to Santa Marta.

I did thailand for my hm at the end of feb/beg march and it was awesome! I don’t think we got a single day of rain. Its cheap enough once youre there that you can do half island and half something else (bangkok or chiang mai maybe).

Also just thought we went to Sri Lanka in mid March and that was lovely. We did a week touring the Island with a driver and a week at the beach sunsetsnmargaritas :

US be here and we just got back from our honeymoon in the Maldives. It is super far for most Americans, but we wanted a once-in-a-lifetime trip, and this was it! February is the driest and most sunny month in the Maldives, but that also means it’s probably more expensive. If you’re wanting a beautiful island, there’s no place more perfect 🙂
In case you’re wondering it was a 13 hour flight from Boston to Dubai, and then a 4 hour flight from Dubai to Male. Our island was also an hour boat ride from there (so lots of traveling). For 6 nights, 7 days it cost us around $5,200 for the all-inclusive, over-water bungalow.

Could you make it over to the Canary Islands? I’ve not been there but my dad traveled there a few years back and said it is truly the prettiest place he’s ever been!

Meeru Island Resort & Spa 🙂

Have you thought about Greece?. We both liked the idea of an island vacation but also wanted a unique experience instead of just beachside the whole time. We are going to do a few days in Athens and the rest in the isles :).

SE Asia is not overly humid at that time of year. I’ve gone probably 15+ times (Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, India) anywhere between early November – early April and it has been fine. I would say that after mid-March it starts getting a lot warmer, but if you are going in February you should be fine.

Thanks for the replies everyone! <3
Sounds so beautiful! I would love to go some day! Trying to discover new places besides the Caribbean though 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion!
That sounds really neat! How were the beaches? Are there any resorts close to the beaches? I looked around for pictures but didn’t find too many. Your resort is booked when we plan on going unfortunately!
I don’t know why, but my husband is set on going to an island lol. Both are beautiful destinations though. I may look more into them and see if I can convince him. Is Cartagena worth spending over a week in?
Enjoy! I’ve been before and it’s absolutely beautiful!
I would LOVE to go to Thailand. It’s my top choice, but my husband is really resisting it for whatever reason. What did you think about the beaches there? Were they beautiful? My husband claims all the pictures online aren’t representing what the beaches actually look like.
I had Sri Lanka on my list too! Glad to hear it wasn’t too humid. Going to continue to look into Sri Lanka for sure.
STUNNING! I have been looking into the Maldives as well. I’m worried that for the length of time we are hoping to go for we might run out of things to do and it may be overly expensive for a ~2 week trip. Just wondering what kind of activities you did while you were there?
Yes!! I would love Greece, but the weather is cold in February. Sadly that knocks it off our list as we would like to spend time on the beach and scuba dive.
I looked more into the Canary Islands from your suggestion. I’m bummed out because it seems lke the perfect place, but it’s a little chilly in February for the activities we are hoping to do 🙁 About 65 degrees.
Glad to hear it! Any favorites? Did you travel to any beach areas while you were there?
Thanks again for the suggestions! Would love to hear more 🙂 Especially warm places in February that offer a lot to do, including scuba diving.
