what about Sanibel (sp?) Island in Florida? Its on the Gulf coast. It seems quite and laid back on a beautiful beach!

You could try Cape Cod in Massachusetts…. it’s beachy but not tropical but still beautiful, and probably wouldn’t be crazy busy durring that time either.

What about the southern/mid-atlantic coast, like South Carolina or Virginia Beach?

@piglover:  Sanibel is beautiful and very relaxing!!!

@futuremrsspringer : You should definitely consider the Gulf Coast! I used to live on that side of FL and it is gorgeous and a little more laid back. Aside from Sanibel, you may want to check out Ft. Myers, Naples, Sarasota/Bradenton or even the Keys (although that might be a bit pricey) However, I know that there is a party boat that takes you from Ft. Myers to the Keys and drops you off for the day/night and then comes back the next morning and picks you up. It’s about a 3 hr boat ride I believe. It might be kind of fun! Good luck!

@futuremrsspringer:  New Orleans!  The weather will be nice, and if you stay in the Garden District you will avoid the craziness of Bourbon Street.  There are gorgeous bed and breakfasts to stay in, and delicious restaurants are all over the place.  My fiance just proposed to me in New Orleans so I’m a bit obsessed with it, but we’ve been going there for years on “Spring Break” (I am a teacher) and it’s never been too too crowded.

@futuremrsspringer:  Sanibel is a great option! i doubt it would be party central during spring break and its beautiful. Naples is really nice too, My husband went to college down there and i was there in december for a wedding and fell in love with the area. Def a older crowd there so it will be more quiet. There is great shopping and great food down there!

Another place to check out is Charleston SC – historic downtown is amazing but there are beaches nearby (folly beach, Sullivans Island, Isle of Palms) all within a 10-15 min drive from downtown. such a romantic city with lots of great food, sightseeing and a decent nightlife. there are lots of young people down there but its not a spring break destination.
