Hotwire is great for cheap hotels. You pick an area and a star rating. Then hotwire tells you the name of the actual hotel after you book.

@cpa333:  What kind of place are you looking to stay at? Are you looking for a large hotel chain to use points or are you open to all options? SF has a lot of boutique hotels that are in good locations and are both historic and modern! 🙂
