I have visited maui a few times, it’s amazing!

The area you are staying is the area I had always stayed at!  These ideas aren’t in any particular order..

1. Kaanapali Beach is really fun, there are be pretty large waves sometimes and it’s beautiful sitting there. To the right is a really big black rock that is good to snorkle around (watch out for people jumping in from above though).

2. Lahaina is a town just south of where you are staying. Front street has some decent shopping and there is a really large banyan tree.

3. A sunset cruise of some kind would be nice, although there won’t be any whales that time of year.

4. If you like sea turtles/snorkling there is a fun snorkling boat that takes you out to a sandbar out in the ocean where there are tons of sea turtles, I can’t remember the name but you could look into it!

5. Haleakala- I have never done this but everyone says it is a must see

6. Road to Hana (black sand, water falls, etc.)

7. Lahaina Civic Center Craft Fair is a pretty decent fair that takes place every sunday. It’s a good place to pick up some souvenirs.

8. Napili Beach is nice too (it’s just north of where you are staying). This is a really good place to hunt for sea glass if you are interested in that.

9. Going to Lanai for the day is a great too!

10.  Iao Valley State Park- if you like hiking

11.  Some of my friends had gone ziplining and really enjoyed it

12.  Surfing/surfing lessons! Just make sure you get a good teacher

The Gazebo Restaurant by Napili Beach has awesome breakfast and a nice view, but you have to show up early if you don’t want to wait in line.

Dukes Beach House is a good restaurant too (more pricey)

Have fun! 🙂

Any of the major restaurants (Mamas, General Store, Mala Ocean) it would be good to have reservations. Otherwise I wouldn’t be too worried for the Fish Market in Haiku.

^ Hali’maile General Stores was AMAZING (I had some sort of squid ink grain with scallops, best I’ve ever had, the lilikoi brulee was amazing too). Seriously, AMAZING. Darling Husband had duck soup that was good too. It’s a bit of a drive from where you are but it’s pretty.

Mama’s Fish House is good (I was sick so couldn’t taste anything but Darling Husband loved it) apparently Anthony Hopkins goes there when on Maui

We went to the Old Lahaina Laua, it was good.

Haiku is a neat little town, the fish market is great for lunch

mala ocean tavern was good too (tell them you are on your honeymoon). Caramel Miranda was delicious as was the lamb pita

Haleakala is COLD at the top. Like pants and sweatshirt cold.

Try local produce. The best avocados we’ve had were on Maui

Aili Kula Lavender is pretty (lavender scones and lemonade are amazing), the tour is worth it if you are in a small group

Surfing Goat Dairy was fun (we love goat cheese and quark)

There’s a ranch in upcountry that has trail rides and ziplining (recommended by the owners of the cottage we were staying at but ended up not going)

If you do do the road to Hana (I wasn’t a huge fan) the lava tubes are a fun diversion. Also, get a boxed  lunch from Anthony’s in Haiku (last place to get gas ON the highway other than Hana and it’s expensive there. You can get it if you drive off the highway just past Haiku but it’s a little bit of a drive)

Anthony’s is also good for breakfast. Loved the scones and tea.

Haleakala is the volcano there. We did the sunrise bike tour during a vacation – meh. Save your $250 bucks and getting up at 3AM. I am a mountain bikerand thought it would be fun. Not so much.  They put you on crappy cruiser bikes and you have to stay in a single file line going less than 3 miles an hour. Had fun on the road to Hana because we stopped and swam at some falls.  Wish I had taken surf lessons! Have fun!
