The Poconos are Really nice. there are trails and, waterfalls, and lakes galore. There are also shopping areas, spas, and hotels. There are casinos, and Zoos, and a national park too.

what about East Tennessee in the Appalachian Mountains? There have great deals on cabins in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the surrounding areas… plus the Smoky Mountain National Park is there, too!

Here is a website with some of the cabin details/pricing :

Where are you coming from?  Do you want to fly or drive?

I’m from NY, and there are several areas in the region that are beautiful.  The Adirondack mountains in Upstate New York, the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York, the Poconos as PP mentioned, and the Berkshires.

I’m in California and we had an amazing vacation in Tahoe last year.  It is still a bit cold (e.g snow on the ground) in May, but the hiking and sking/snowboarding is spectacular that time of year.  We stayed at the Hyatt on the Northshore.
