@marylandnurse: well, with a cruise, your stops might change if there is bad weather. I was talking with my travel agent and she said cruises are good idea at that time because they will just change the itinerary. I am jealous that you are looking at a 9 day cruise, I would love that!

@MUI831: just make sure you get insurance. They offer it for around $100 a person or maybe less, but in the long run, it’s worth having that security!

We’re also just doing a mini-moon right after the wedding, then going somewhere in the Spring, I can only devote my planning to 1 major thing at a time. I think I might go nuts if I tried to plan a vacation & a wedding at the same time.

We are heading to Costa Rica, which was a gift from a guest who owns a home there… But, I did find out that this will be during the rainy season… Oh well, at least we will be in the rainforest!

We talked about a cruise, but Fiance just started a new job so we have to wait to see closer to the time about what time he’s going to be able to have off.

My fiancé wore me down so we are headed to Maui for 7 nights!  Go ahead twist my arm a little more.  i didn’t think we’d be able to swing it, but with in the past three months I learned the hard way that life is short and there are no guarantees.  So I don’t care if it’s a little struggle financially I’m OK with that. We’ll be fine after.

We just booked our flights to Thailand!  So excited.  We plan to stay in Bangkok for a few days and then head south to the beaches and islands.  The tickets were even comparable to flying to the carribbean.  And Thailand hotels and daily expenses are much cheaper than the carribbean or Hawaii.  I haven’t booked our hotels yet but many of the nice resort places are only like $60-80/night.  We like to keep it cheap and adventurous so we might get a beach hut for like $24/night.

The weather is supposed to great too!  Late October- Early February is peak season there.

My Dad and stepmom went to Aruba because it’s outside the “hurricane zone” and they had a blast. The photos they brought back were GORGEOUS.

@ADBK2011:you can always go on a shorter cruise now if your fiance doesn’t have much time off and then go on a longer trip later!
