So my FI’s aunt and uncle own a beautiful home in panama, complete with a chef and maid. They very kindly offered to let us use it for our honeymoon. His aunt said she would set up an itinerary of things for us to do also and give us rec’s for dining. She also said if we wanted to stay in the heart of the city a luxury hotel would only cost us about 150.
my question is what do you guys think? i am worried that without being on some resort it wont “feel” like a honeymoon

DO IT!!!! Panama is beeeeeautiful!! We’re toying with the idea of staying at my FH’s aunt and uncle’s house in St John, similar set-up to you (very posh house, maid, etc) and when we stayed there before, it was BETTER than being on a resort! Much more private and romantic…I vote for an enthusiastic yes!

Who ever said that a honeymoon has to be on a resort? I don’t know, maybe I’m biased becuse I think resorts are kind of boring, but I can’t imagine that a resort would be any better than a private home with a chef and maid.
I say go for it! 🙂

I’m with trailmix! I absolutely love Panama and what could be better than being spoiled in the comforts of your “own home?” No kids, no fighting for pool chairs, not hearing other guests in the hallway/adjoining rooms…intimate dinner for two every night, probably eating what you want, being able to lounge around and have someone to clean up after you…go for it!
